Our beliefs and values for people joining our mission


1. Language is for friendships.


Our core belief is language is the tool to create human connections and build relationships.
ConvoAcademy was originally founded in Italy, to help locals and ex-pats integrate, through English language. We achieved this with fun, social events, supporting people to make new friends, overcoming linguistic and cultural challenges.

2. We are transparent.


We believe honesty is the best policy, even when it isn't easy to do so. That goes for our teachers, staff and students with aim of being constructive and supportive.
For students, we always give the best advice for them without self interest.
Open conversations with teachers and staff ensure relationships built on trust and help us all grow, personally and professionally.

3. Think outside the box.


We have never ever wanted to be a traditional language school. We have always done our best to be the complete opposite because we believe it isn't the most effective (nor most fun) way to learn English. 
This is the reason our methodology is based primarily on social interaction and interactive communication. 
This is the reason why we have never had a physical premises with classrooms and a staffroom. 
This is why we partner with exciting startups who share our mindset and ambition.

4. Education should be practical, relevant and fun.


The common education system is completely outdated and inefficient, not to mention the teaching methodology. We are still preparing our kids for the industrial-era future instead of the past-paced tech-information age that we are living in.
We integrate technology simply and effectively into our work and teaching. From cloud based software to leveraging gamification to enhance the teaching experience, every class is tailored to the students' objective whether it be professional or personal. A range of multimedia material and student-centred communication elevates the learning environment quality.

5. Teaching is more than just a job. 


Teachers have a huge responsibility to connect, empathise, support, develop and produce results in a short period of time. Students give us their trust which is why we choose our team members extremely carefully. Our team is passionate about language, people and culture which is why we promote these values in our virtual staff room and our monthly meetups.

6. Meritocracy and openness 


We don't possess a hierarchical structure like most companies. We see and treat all our team members as equals and encourage everyone to share their ideas, beliefs and feedback to constantly improve our environment and service. We highly encourage team members to use their initiative, suggest new, exciting ideas and grow together.

7. Work should be your passion.

If you wake up in the morning, dreading your classes or seeing your team mates, you definitely aren't in the right place! We strive to make our work environment fun, dynamic, flexible while retaining the required level of professionalism and quality. Whether online or locally, our social gathering, training sessions and public events are designed with all those qualities in mind.
